How big is each bag?
The Belgravia is compact and structured, carried in the hand or over the wrist. The Demilune is 23 centimetres wide and 13 high. The Antibes is 32 by 17 by 10 centimetres and about 400 grams. The Deauville is 26 by 18 centimetres. Every photograph on this site shows the bag at its true size against the model, because a bag that looks bigger online than it is in the hand is the oldest trick in the trade, and we do not play it.
Can I see it on me before I buy?
For the Demilune, yes. Open See it on you, upload a photo, choose a colour, and you will see the bag in your own hand at its true size. Your photo is used once to make the preview and is not stored.
Will the Deauville go over my shoulder?
No. It is a mini with a short handle, carried in the hand or over the wrist. If you want a shoulder bag, the Antibes sits under the arm and the Demilune comes with two straps.
Materials and making
Is the leather real?
The Belgravia is full-grain leather with a hand-burnished finish. The Demilune, the Antibes and the Deauville are made from leather look materials and woven cloths, chosen so the bags stay light and the prices stay whole. We say which is which in every description, in plain words.
Where are the bags made?
They are made for us by a specialist partner workshop in China that we chose for the quality of its weaving and finishing. Each bag is then checked by hand before it is wrapped and sent from the United Kingdom. We would rather tell you that plainly than hide it behind a flag.
Are the beads on the Demilune all the same?
No. Each charm is strung by hand from wooden and ceramic beads, so the order and the shades vary a little from bag to bag. Yours is yours.
Prices
Why do your prices end in a five or a zero?
Because .99 is a trick, and because our prices do not move. There is no sale in the autumn and no code in the pop-up. The price you see on the first day is the price, so you never have to wonder whether to wait.
Do you offer a discount for signing up?
No. The list gets the first look at new colours and restocks, two days before the store. That is the gift. The price is already the price.
Delivery, returns and the guarantee
How long will my order take?
UK orders are dispatched within 2 working days and usually arrive 2 to 3 working days after that, tracked, with the delivery on us. Express is £7 and goes out on the next working day. EU orders take 5 to 10 working days and orders further afield 7 to 14.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes, to the European Union for £15 and to a list of countries further afield for £24. Local duties and taxes are not included and are collected by the carrier.
What if it is not right?
You have 30 days from delivery. Write to us, we send a prepaid UK label, you send the bag back unused with its pouch, straps and charm, and we refund within 5 working days of its arrival.
Is there a guarantee?
Twelve months from delivery against faults in the making. Write to us with a photograph and we will repair, replace or refund, whichever is quickest.
Gifts and packaging
Can I send a bag as a gift?
Yes. Every bag arrives wrapped in tissue in a plain box with no price inside. Add a note at checkout and we will include it.
Do you sell gift cards?
Not yet. If you would like one, write to us and we will find a way.
Getting hold of us
How do I reach a person?
Email support@arvellebags.com, use the Contact page, or reply to any email from us. We answer within one working day, Monday to Friday, and the answer comes from a person.
