ARVELLE ("we", "us") runs this store at arvellebags.com and is the data controller for the personal information described here. This policy says what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It is written to be read.
What we collect
- Contact and order details. Your name, email address, delivery and billing addresses, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered.
- Payment details. Taken and processed by Shopify Payments and the payment provider you choose at checkout. We never see your full card number.
- Messages. Anything you write to us through the contact form or by email, so that we can answer it.
- Newsletter sign up. Your email address, the date you joined and whether you open what we send, so that we can stop sending it if you do not.
- Device and usage information. Your IP address, browser, the pages you visit and how you arrived, collected through cookies and similar technologies described below.
- See it on you photos. If you use the Demilune try-on, the photograph you upload is sent to our try-on service, where it is processed once by Google's Gemini image model to produce the preview, and then discarded. We do not store your photo, we do not use it to train anything, and we do not link it to your name or your order. Do not upload a photo of anyone who has not agreed to it.
Why we use it, and the lawful basis
- To take your order, deliver it, handle returns and the guarantee, and answer you (performance of a contract).
- To keep the store secure and prevent fraud, and to understand which pages are read so we can improve them (our legitimate interests, which we have balanced against yours).
- To send the newsletter, and to show you ARVELLE advertising on other sites based on your visit (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders and payments. Delivery carriers, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your bag. Our email service, to send order updates and, if you have joined the list, the newsletter. Our try-on service and Google, for the See it on you preview, as described above. Advertising and analytics platforms (currently Meta and Google), only if you have accepted the relevant cookies. Advisers and authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information and we never will.
Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the UK's adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum approved by the Information Commissioner.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the cart, the checkout and the store's security working, and they are always on. Analytics cookies tell us which pages are read and where visitors leave. Marketing cookies let us show ARVELLE advertising to people who have visited, and measure whether it worked. You choose the second and third kinds in the cookie notice when you first arrive, and you can change your mind at any time from the Cookie choices link in the footer or by clearing cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
Order records for 6 years after the order, because UK tax law requires it. Messages for 2 years after the last reply. Newsletter details until you unsubscribe, and then only a record that you did. Try-on photographs are not kept at all. Analytics data is kept in aggregate and cannot be traced back to you.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email support@arvellebags.com and we will reply within one month. You will not be treated any differently for asking.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Children
The store is not aimed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, if you are on the list, by email.
